Late-Summer Dining on Waterview Patios Around Victoria | DFH Real Estate

Eating a meal on a waterfront patio is one of the highlights of the summer season for our real estate agents. Victoria is teeming with waterfront restaurants where you can treat yourself to some excellent cuisine while enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. Before summer ends, make time to grab a bite at one of these restaurants with waterview patios near our Victoria homes for sale.

Late-Summer Dining on Waterview Patios Around Victoria

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse - Saanichton, BC

Address: 2487 Mount Saint Michael Road, Saanichton, BC

Located on a pastoral stretch of road on the fringes of Saanichton, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse's small patio offers enchanting views of Saanichton Bay and James Island. Their menu is full of simple foods like soups, salads, and flatbreads, including:

  • Seafood Chowder made with fresh seasonal fish
  • Coastal Greens with Sockeye, a mix of spring greens and English peas with asparagus, salmon, and whipped ricotta flavoured with lemon and garlic
  • Roasted Mushroom and Thyme flatbread with shiitake and cremini mushrooms smothered in garlic parmesan cream and mozzarella cheese

We're big fans of their Cheesy Bun Bites, fluffy morsels of fresh-baked bread sprinkled with chives and three kinds of cheese served with a side of sweet apple cider jelly. They even serve incredible hand-dipped ice cream bars for dessert.

The ciderhouse serves food from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day. Reserve your patio table online before your visit to make sure you get to enjoy the waterfront view.

LURE Restaurant & Bar - Victoria, BC

Address: 100 Harbour Road, Victoria, BC

LURE's waterfront patio overlooks Victoria's Inner Harbour, letting you take in the hustle and bustle of this famously busy port while you eat. Their menu puts an upscale twist on simple fish-forward fare and includes:

  • Breakfast food like Smoked Salmon Toasties, Country Ham Benedict, and Rose Brioche French Toast
  • Light appetizers like their Crispy Calamari and Miso Brussels Sprouts
  • Sandwiches like their Chicken Salad Croissant and vegan Banh Mi
  • A mix of casual and high-end entrees like Fish and Chips and delectable slow-cooked 48 Hour Sous Vide Bison Short Ribs

They're one of the few fine-dining restaurants open early, starting each day at 6:30 a.m. They close at 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. You'll need to call them to reserve a patio table, though – their online booking tool doesn't let you choose where you want to sit.

Aura Waterfront Restaurant + Patio - Victoria, BC

Address: 680 Montreal Street, Victoria, BC

Aura sits at the edge of the Inner Harbour just north of James Bay, and the view from their waterfront patio is one of the best in the city. Their menu is just as exceptional, featuring:

  • A full suite of breakfast options with everything from Steel Cut Oats to egg-topped Avocado Toast and Buttermilk Waffles with peach preserves
  • Luxury appetizers like Beef Carpaccio, Asparagus Salad, and Fresh Shucked Island Oysters
  • House-made pastas like Tagliatelle Bolognese and vegan-friendly Mushroom Maccaronara

They're open every day from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and allow patio reservations. Like LURE, their online booking tool doesn't let you specify that you want patio seating, so call them directly to score one of those premium tables.

Boom + Batten - Victoria, BC

Address: 2 Paul Kane Place, Victoria, BC

Boom + Batten's waterfront patio also looks out over the Inner Harbour, but it's far enough west to offer a great view of the Middle Harbour too. Visit them to dine on:

  • Brunch dishes like their Classic Benny and Boom Breakfast plate
  • Appetizers like their parmesan truffle Boom Fries and their Lemongrass Caramel Glazed Chicken Wings
  • Casual dining staples like artisan pizza, smash burgers, and house-made gnocchi
  • Indulgent mains like premium tenderloin beef, roasted halibut, and braised lamb shank

This restaurant's hours are a bit more variable than most in town: They're open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. You can't reserve seats on the patio, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you show up during peak hours.

Finn's Seafood, Chops & Cocktails - Victoria, BC

Address: 1208 Wharf Street, Victoria, BC

Finn's Seafood, Chops, & Cocktails's Wharf Street patio offers an excellent view of the riotously colourful homes on Fisherman's Wharf and the Juan de Fuca Strait in the distance. Eat here to enjoy:

  • Appetizers like Tuna Tartare, Pork and Beef Meatballs, and Smoked Steelhead Rillettes
  • Savory seafood dishes like Finn's Seafood Linguini, Live Atlantic Lobster, and Rare Seared Ahi Tuna
  • Meat-based mains like their Pan Roasted Chicken and New York Strip and Red Wine Peppercorn Demi-Glace
  • Burgers and artisan pizza

They're open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from noon to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Patio tables can't be reserved in advance.

Glo Restaurant + Lounge - Victoria, BC

Address: 104-2940 Jutland Road, Victoria, BC

Glo Restaurant + Lounge is much further north than the rest of these spots, sitting right on the edge of the Selkirk Waterway. It's an upscale establishment serving:

  • Elevated appetizers like Bacon Wrapped Prawns, Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, and Truffle Parmesan Fries
  • Flatbreads topped with everything from classic mozzarella and pepperoni to elegant pairings like pear and brie
  • Mouthwatering sandwiches like their Double Smashed Burger and their Grilled Chicken Club with chipotle aioli and caramelized onions

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and closes an hour later on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a popular spot, and they don't take reservations for patio seats, so it can be tricky to get a table during peak periods.

What Should You Know About Waterfront Dining in Victoria?

Do Victoria waterfront restaurants take patio reservations?

Policies vary by restaurant. Some allow guests to reserve a table and request outdoor seating, while others seat their patios on a first-come, first-served basis. If the waterfront view is important to you, check the restaurant's current policy before heading out.

Where can you find waterfront patios in Victoria?

Many waterfront restaurants are clustered around the Inner Harbour, Wharf Street, and the Selkirk Waterway. You can also find scenic dining farther north on the Saanich Peninsula, including Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse in Saanichton.

Are Victoria waterfront patios open beyond summer?

Some patios operate seasonally or depend on the weather, while others extend outdoor dining with heaters, umbrellas, and other features. Since hours and patio availability can change as the season winds down, it's a good idea to check directly with the restaurant before visiting.
